Statistics on Moroccan Community in Belgium

A Study was prepared by a Belgium Civil Institution with the cooperation of the Rabat University about the conditions of Moroccan Community in Belgium; the study resulted in: 

 

  • Out of 400 educated Moroccans resident in Belgium, 31% have permanent contracts while 5% have temporary ones. 
  • 38% of Belgium women from Moroccan origin are employed versus 55.4% of men. 
  • 62% of women are unemployed for family reasons and other reasons. 
  • 62% are against the marriage of a Muslim woman to a non- Muslim and 45% are against the marriage of a Muslim to a non-Muslim woman. 
  • 29% own their homes, while 52% of them rent places to live in and 15% live with their families. 
  • 60% of people surveyed have properties in their country of origin “Morocco” in the form of real estate, land or shops.
